The Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape provides a free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week crisis line service. The Crisis Line is a private and confidential crisis intervention / support service.

The Crisis Line will assist:

ANYONE who has been raped, sexually assaulted or abused**
ANYONE who has had unwanted sexual touching
Incest survivors
Survivors of childhood and adult sexual assault
Family and/or friends
**Abuse includes physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, ritual, financial

The term “victim” means a person who has suffered direct physical, emotional, or pecuniary harm as a result of the commission of a crime.

In the United States, in Europe, in Australia, in Asia and in more countries “victims” are expressly afforded certain rights and services to assist, during and in the aftermath of the commission of that crime. For these reasons, within this site, authors still make extensive use of this term.

Adopting survivor and trauma-informed approaches, should not conflict or compete with the provision of assistance entitled to victims.
